200th Anniversary Celebration

Marking the historic milestone of 200 years since the establishment of the Pelena Gangarama Maha Viharaya, a grand meritorious ceremony was held on January 23, 2023, to officially open the newly constructed Vahalkada (Entrance Gateway) and Walakulu Bamma (Cloud Wall).

The event was graced by the presence of the Most Venerable Mahanayake Thero of the Dharmarakshitha Parshawaya of the Amarapura Nikaya, along with the Maha Sangha (revered monks) of the area.
